 My Dreams

My dreams are not only for the night
My dreams are also for the day, the dreams
I have are for me to understand and carry out
Please world do not divert them to destruction

My dreams get me through pain and disappointment
My dreams carry me through the darkest hours of life
In this ever discovering journey of living, my dreams hope
Please humankind take my dreams seriously

My dreams are not worth gambling for
My dreams are not a lottery ticket to riches and fame
My dreams are embraced warmly by wisdom and wealth
Please precious soul do not pimp or prostitute them

My dreams are the reason I laugh in adversity
My dreams tell me with a small voice that opportunity awaits
They position for the right moment to cease
Please brother do not mock my dreams

My dreams are not conceited and proud
My dreams are not selfish and greedy
In humility they continue to thrive with excellence
Please sister do not curse my big dreams

My dreams train me in their own time
My dreams test my character for my appointed time
They help me see the bigger picture in a small world
Please mother do not abort my priceless dreams

My dreams are streams of life for a lifeless future
My dreams are a wagon through desert grounds of the Savanna
Funny though I am still not thirsty nor hungry ever since I had them
Please daddy love do not substitute my dreams

My dreams might be smaller than yours
My dreams  may be meaningless and worthless to you
But what matters is that someone will bring them to pass
